Never mind the impending doom, the White House is down with memes!

I am thrilled to know the president employs hipsters to do his press. I have written before about my objections to "public relations" in the federal government. One of the phenomenon's most disgusting aspects involves tax dollars spent to fund spokespeople who simplify issues to pander to the the masses (come to think of it, I have also written before about the dangers of slipping away from a republic and into a populist democracy, so this chain of thought is really coming together nicely).

The one good thing about this article is that it underscores the fact that when the government tries to be cool, it generally fails (yet another point I have made before). Rickrolling is so 2007.
