What a fantastic finish for Ron Paul tonight.
If Intrade is any indication (and it usually is), the race is down to two candidates. But there's only one who can win even if he doesn't secure the nomination.
Everyday Paul stays in this race the message gets louder and the reception gets better. I've always believed the best way forward is to lay the groundwork for Rand or another to run in 2016. Why do these idiots keep asking Ron Paul about a third party run when the party is moving toward him?
The GOP can reject Paul and the message of liberty at their own peril.
I have been a Republican for over twenty years. I have worked on campaigns at every level and donated enough that if I had it back I could buy Rick Santorum a sweater vest for each day until the convention this summer. Four years ago when I rejected McDebt and went with Ron Paul many of my Republican contacts told me I was abandoning the Party. Now they're coming around.
For me tonight is one of vindication and when Ron Paul rocks my home state of Nevada next month, it will be the culmination of four years of labor and hope.
I am euphoric for the campaign, for the message, and the future. Not Mitt Romney phony optimism euphoria- but legitimate happiness over a positive development for the Republican Party and, most importantly, the country.
After all, the GOP is only a medium (and often a counter productive medium) to protect the Constitution and our liberties. Individual voters making sensible choices- that's the key to keeping this country great.
