Perhaps it slipped under the radar, but it does not seem like the Campaign to Cut Government Waste, the president's initiative led by hard chargin' Joe Biden, has issued a press release detailing its achievements in the month since it was founded.
In fact, it's been a month and a week since it was noted here that the Campaign, AKA Commission, was created by Executive Order. But what has it done? Has it been convening important meetings? Examining innovative ideas to cut waste? Or just existing for the sake of existing? In the age of digital media where every Michelle Obama costume change is documented by one of her dozens of staff, and the president's golf scores are tweeted and emailed around the planet, is it too much to ask for an update on this program?
Even if one has been issued, it has been buried in the minutiae flowing from the White House media spinning experts.
Another good question- what is this thing costing? Is it a high speed, low cost program which will pay back the investment ten times over because of the difficult cuts it not only identifies but compels? Or is the Campaign like one of those "Save Your Credit" magazines you see desperate people buying at the grocery store- just one more thing stuck on the Visa card, only under the pretense of alleviating the debt problem.
Kindly forward any info anyone has on this program because at the moment, it appears inactive.
